Health care close to home
Getting health care as close to home as possible can make difficult situations faced by families easier to bear. Having support from loved ones and other supports who live nearby, reducing time off from work and getting care in a familiar city can all ease stress.
Hospitals care from birth to end of life
Our donors are committed to giving back to their community and helping those in Regina and throughout southern Saskatchewan. Everyone will either need hospital services themselves or know someone who will. Last year, Regina's hospitals cared for over 85,000 patients.
On average, 4,000 babies are born in Regina each year, and our donors want to ensure they have the best possible start in life. For families, pediatric services provided by our hospitals and the Children's Program at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre are invaluable.
Getting accurate diagnoses is critical for effective treatment and recovery. Our hospitals conduct over 44,000 CT scans and perform 27,000 surgeries annually. Every day, our medical teams save lives in Regina's hospitals. Our donors recognize that many individuals in our city and province face serious and life-threatening health issues. Each year, approximately 24,000 patients are transported by emergency medical services to Regina's hospitals, and our emergency rooms handle more than 96,000 visits.
Moreover, our donors want to offer support to those in their final days, whether they are receiving care in a long-term care home or through palliative services.
These statistics reflect just a portion of the health care needs addressed by Regina's hospitals. With the ongoing support of our community, we will continue to enhance health care services now and well into the future. For our donors, contributing to Hospitals of Regina Foundation is not just about supporting a good cause; they believe it is the right thing to do.
