September 23, 2026, Regina, Sask. – Hospitals of Regina Foundation 2026 commitment of $735,000 for the Dilawri Simulation Centre at the Regina General Hospital will be supported by a $250,000 donation by the RBC Foundation. This generous contribution will help Hospitals of Regina Foundation support the expansion of the Centre’s training programs, ensuring that trainees throughout the province have access to the educational practice they need to deliver the best patient care possible in our hospitals and health care facilities.

The Dilawri Simulation Centre currently provides training to approximately 5,000 Saskatchewan-based trainees each year through medical simulation and, since opening in 2012, has trained 55,000 physicians, nurses, medical residents, paramedics and nursing students. Using high fidelity, life-like mannequins presenting realistic medical conditions, enabled by sophisticated technology and software, the Dilawri Simulation Centre allows trainees to practice responding to critical medical conditions, such as severe trauma, in a controlled environment. As the need for high-quality clinical education and practice continues to grow, and to meet the growing demand for health care professionals in Saskatchewan, Hospitals of Regina Foundation has committed to invest $735,000 to equip the Centre with additional and upgraded technology and equipment.

Thanks to RBC Foundation’s $250,000 commitment towards the Foundation’s total $735,000 investment, the Dilawri Simulation Centre will receive vital technology to support and expand the medical trainee program to accommodate more clinicians and specialties, such as anesthesiology.

With support from donors like the RBC Foundation, we are honoured to commit this investment to help expand the Centre’s training capacity, so our medical teams and students can acquire clinical competence and save lives.”
