Hospitals of Regina Foundation partners with Saskatchewan Blue Cross
in support of better health care for our community

Sept. 9, 2025, Regina, Sask. – Hospitals of Regina Foundation is pleased to announce a $150,000 gift from Saskatchewan Blue Cross.

This gift equally supports our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care, at the Regina General Hospital and the new Regina Urgent Care Centre.

“We are committed to investing in our communities and initiatives that support the health and wellness of residents in Saskatchewan,” says Kelly Wilson, president and CEO of Saskatchewan Blue Cross. “As a not-for-profit organization, we’re proud to support Hospitals of Regina Foundation and, most importantly, the individuals and families who depend on these hospitals during some of life’s most critical moments.”

Every year, 500 babies are born in Regina and southern Saskatchewan who need the specialized care provided in our world-class NICU. Thanks to partners like Saskatchewan Blue Cross, the Foundation regularly invests in leading-edge, life-saving technology that helps our medical teams provide the best care possible for fragile newborns.

Since it opened in July 2024, Regina’s Urgent Care Centre has provided same-day, urgent care for more than 41,000 people. The gift from Saskatchewan Blue Cross supported the Foundation’s $2.42 million investment in the technology, equipment, furniture and fixtures needed by the urgent care centre team to provide the best care possible.

“This gift from Saskatchewan Blue Cross will help support the health care needs of our southern Saskatchewan community,” says Dino Sophocleous, president and CEO of Hospitals of Regina Foundation. “We are grateful to have a partner like Saskatchewan Blue Cross join us in making lives better, right here at home.”

ABOUT HOSPITALS OF REGINA FOUNDATION

In 1987, an inspired group of volunteers came together to make lives better for the people of southern Saskatchewan. Their vision helped establish Hospitals of Regina Foundation. We fundraise and invest in key centres of care, with a goal to help establish the best health care possible for everyone in our community.  With the help of our dedicated donors, the Foundation has raised $250 million since our inception, and together we will continue to support the critical work of our medical teams and, most importantly, patients in Regina and southern Saskatchewan.
