Music is at the heart of Joe Puff’s life. As a drum teacher and the drummer for local rock band Sing The Body Electric, Joe was inspired to give back the best way he knew how – by hosting a rock concert at The Revival Music Room in support of the music therapy program at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre (WRC). Why the music therapy program? Not only is music a big part of Joe’s life but it was a big part of his grandfather’s life as well. As a resident of the Veteran’s Program at WRC for two years, Joe’s grandfather accessed the music therapy program. Music therapy is often used in long-term care facilities to encourage activity, reduce stress, increase social connections and improve speech and cognitive skills. A big thank you to Joe, his band and the other two local bands who performed, Above The Crown and Dead Levee, who performed. Thank you to everyone who came out to rock in support of music therapy through Hospitals of Regina Foundation!
