The heart and soul of Regina’s General Hospital

General Hospital Auxiliary

The dedicated women and men who donate their time and energy through the Regina General Hospital (RGH) Auxiliary could realistically be considered the lifeblood of the hospital. The 30 members of the RGH Auxiliary play an integral role by raising funds and helping make patients more comfortable.
Patients and visitors to the hospital don’t have to go far to see the impact of the auxiliary, as the auxiliary gift shop is located near the main entrance, welcoming everyone who enters the facility. In addition to the gift shop, auxiliary members operate a gift cart and bookstore. The proceeds from those operations are used for various purposes, including supporting the purchase of new equipment for the hospital through Hospitals of Regina Foundation. Since 1983, the RGH Auxiliary has raised more than $4 million, making the lives of countless patients better as a result.
If you, or someone you know, would like to make a genuine difference in helping people in our community live better lives, please consider joining one of the hospital auxiliaries. Members get to meet people from all walks of life, and have fun while helping patients and their families live better lives. The time commitment is minimal (a few hours a month, plus monthly meetings) and full training is provided. Each auxiliary member is provided with a volunteer jacket and ID badge. All you need to provide is your time, and your desire to make a difference!
“Everyone is welcome to volunteer with the Auxiliary,” says RGH Auxiliary President Norma Rohatyn. “Volunteering a few hours a month can revitalize you, build confidence, and you may even discover a hidden talent! Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18. Try it - we guarantee you’ll enjoy it!”
"There is power in working together, I can see it in the Regina General Hospital Auxiliary. I encourage anyone to consider joining them in their quest. Their teamwork has a huge impact on the lives of people in the hospital through their fundraising and donations to our Foundation." says Jessica Rawn, director, development for Hospitals of Regina Foundation.
