The heart and soul of Regina’s Pasqua Hospital

Pasqua Hospital Auxiliary

The dedicated women and men who donate their time and energy through the Pasqua Hospital Auxiliary could realistically be considered the lifeblood of the hospital. The Auxiliary traces its history all the way back to 1907, when it was called the Lady Patronesses of the Grey Nuns Hospital. The current members of the Pasqua Auxiliary play an integral role by raising funds and helping make patients more comfortable, including offering emotional support to patients and families.

Visitors to the hospital don’t have to go far to see the impact of the auxiliary, as the auxiliary gift shop is located at the main entrance, welcoming everyone who enters the facility. In addition to the gift shop, auxiliary members hold raffles and sell gently used books. The proceeds from those operations are used to support the purchase of new equipment for the hospital, through Hospitals of Regina Foundation. Since 1984, the Pasqua Hospital Auxiliary has raised more than $4.2 million, making the lives of countless patients better as a result.

If you, or someone you know, would like to make a genuine difference in helping people in our community live better lives, please consider joining one of the hospital auxiliaries. Members get to meet people from all walks of life, and have fun while helping patients and their families live better lives. The time commitment is minimal (a few hours a month, plus monthly meetings) and full training is provided. Each auxiliary member is provided with a volunteer jacket and ID badge. All you need to provide is your time, and your desire to make a difference!

“Being an Auxiliary member gives you an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many people,” says Pasqua Hospital Auxiliary member Amber Gervais. “Seeing smiles on the faces of patients and their family and friends gives you such a great feeling inside. Even a simple ‘Hello’ can mean so much!”

“I’ve never met a more welcoming group of people than the Pasqua Hospital Auxiliary. I encourage anyone to consider joining them. Not only do they have fun, but they make a tremendous impact on the lives of people in the hospital through their fundraising and donations to our Foundation.” says Jessica Rawn, director, development for Hospitals of Regina Foundation.
